If you love a design but wish it came in another colour, or you need a size that isn't listed, a custom order lets us craft it just for you. Custom crochet is one of the most popular ways to shop with Kaari — and it's simpler than you might think. Here's exactly how it works, from your first message to the day your piece arrives.
What counts as a custom order?
A custom order is any piece we make to your specification rather than from the standard listing. The most common requests are:
- A colour change — you love the wild rose sling bag but want it in your favourite shade.
- A size change — a larger version of a cushion, a smaller version of a bag.
- A design tweak — merging details from two pieces, or adjusting a shape.
- A completely new design — a gift for someone special, a piece to match a room, or an idea you've had in your head for a while.
If it can be crocheted, we can usually make it. The only limit is the yarn we can source and the hours in a day.
Step 1 — Tell us what you have in mind
Reach us on WhatsApp with a photo of the piece you love, or a reference, and let us know the colour and size you're after. The more detail, the better — a picture is worth a thousand knots.
A good brief includes:
- A photo or link to the design you like.
- The colour or colours you want.
- The size or dimensions you need.
- Any deadline — a birthday, an anniversary, a festival.
- Whether it's a gift, and if so, a little about the person.
Don't worry about being too specific or too vague. We've made everything from ganpati dolls for festive gifting to layered sunflower pots for home decor — we're used to working from loose ideas.
Step 2 — Get your quote
We'll confirm the yarn colours available, the timeline, and a price. Because each piece is made to order, the quote reflects the exact yarn and labour for your design.
The quote is always free and there's no obligation. We'll tell you honestly if a design isn't practical, and suggest an alternative that gets you the same look with less risk. Most quotes come back within a day.
Step 3 — We craft it by hand
Most custom pieces take 5–10 business days to craft. A mother-son team in Durg, Chhattisgarh works each piece by hand, checking every stitch.
During the making, we'll send you progress photos — especially for larger or more complex pieces. This is the part people love most: watching your idea take shape, one loop at a time. If you want a change mid-way, just say so; it's far easier to adjust a piece while it's on the hook than after it's finished.
Step 4 — Delivery
We ship PAN India with tracking. Your custom piece arrives ready to gift or to keep.
Every custom order is packed by hand, wrapped in tissue, and shipped with care instructions. Most orders reach metro cities within 3–5 business days; remote areas may take a little longer.
